Harrison Kennedy joined by Ruthie Foster on Thanks For Tomorrow out June 17

Chairman Of The Board's Harrison Kennedy gets support from Blackie & The Rodeo Kings members on soulful new blues set.

Here's the scoop...

Hamilton, Ontario’s legendary bluesman Harrison Kennedy – who recently celebrated his 80th birthday – is back with Thanks For Tomorrow, another soulful blues workout with very special guests Ruthie Foster and Colin Linden. Co-Produced by Harrison and keyboard wizard Jesse O’Brien, the new release also features ace rhythm section Gary Craig on drums and John Dymond on bass (both members of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings), while masterful guitarists Chris Cadell and Linden soar throughout.

In releasing his seventh album on  Electro-Fi Records, Harrison further cements himself as a giant on the blues scene with what may be his best work to date. Featuring 12 tracks that take us to places known and unknown, all are originals penned by Harrison, save for a cover of Van Morrison's "Crazy Love." All are served with a healthy dose of mastery and creativity."

“A new album from Harrison Kennedy is always cause for celebration, but never more so than now in 2022 when we also celebrate Harrison’s 80th birthday, Electro-Fi’s 25th anniversary, and 15 years of making blues music together", says Andrew Galloway of Electro-Fi Records.

Best known as a founding member of Holland-Dozier-Holland’s million-selling 70’s soul supergroup the Chairmen of the Board,  Harrison has gone on to become one of the 21st century’s most inventive blues singer-songwriters. In 2016 he was awarded the "Blues Album of the Year" Juno Award for his release, This Is From Here as well as garnering multiple Blues Music Award nominations from the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN.

Check out a recent clip of Harrison performing "Crap Shooter Blues" solo on banjo followed by a 2021 chat with singer/songwriter Julian Taylor.
