Young Fresh Fellows release live-in-the-studio album "Loft" on the down low

Young Fresh Fellows recorded a their new Loft album in a single day in Chicago last year which they're selling at shows.

Here's the scoop from Kurt Bloch...

If any of y’all want a copy of this new Young Fresh Fellows LP, it’s all new songs, this version is a “live” from the studio LP without overdubs and anything extra; all recorded in one day in Chicago last year. It will be “officially” released later with a more traditional approach, and this version will NOT be traditionally released, LP-only, no digital version. ANYHOO, I’ve put some on Discogs for those savvy virtual crate-diggers, check it out here. Overseas shipping is nearly US$30. for ONE LP so might have to figure out another avenue.

Young Fresh Fellows return to The Egg for Toxic Youth LP

Scott McCauhey and crew went back to Conrado Uno's Egg Studios for their new Toxic Youth album out Record Store Day via Yep Roc.
Here's the scoop...
The Young Fresh Fellows are back with an electric new toaster, Toxic Youth. Remember their 1989 anthem “Two Guitars Bass & Drums”? Well, nothing has changed, except everything.  Hopes have been dashed, but the men still love music. Subtitled Back To The Egg, the Fellows return to where it all began, with one last roundup at the infamous Egg Studios, Seattle WA, produced once again by Conrad Uno (who also struck gold with The Presidents Of The United States Of America).

When the Fellows heard that Uno was closing up his studio and retiring from the limelight, the band grabbed a last weekend to record a couple songs (they had THREE in various shape of decomposition). A couple days later there were 17 tracks, of which 12 were deemed PERFECT. “Gear Summer 2013” is Everything-Is-Falling-Apart-In-Three-Minutes, and was planned to be a smash summer single — in 2013 (amazingly, things have gotten worse).  The Buzzcocks and Rezillos concur. “Never Had It Bad” heralds the spring with blue jays and more sad punk-pop problem-solving, Ramones-style. And don’t miss the heart-rending saga of a rock and roll band(s) (#47 in a series) “Bleed Out”.

The fine folks at Yep Roc are pressing up 2000 copies of Toxic Youth on 'toxic green' vinyl for release on Record Store Day which is April 18th. Watch the Young Fresh Fellows preview a couple songs from the album following the video for "Never Had It Bad" below.
