Written by Ugly Ducklings' lead vocalist Dave Bingham, Noise From The North End: The Amazing Story Of The Ugly Ducklings follows the career of the legendary 60s garage rock band from their Scarborough origins through their major hit parade successes to their re-emegernce as the favourite 60s gararge band of the punk rock movement in New York & Toronto and beyond.
Exploits and touring stories abound, with descriptions of opening for The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys and many other iconic acts of the 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s.
Of particular note are the descriptions of recording their seminal debut album Somewhere Outside in Toronto, their snotty proto-punk anthem Nothin' and their chart topping hit Gaslight in New York during the summer of love in 1967. Have a look at an excerpt right here.
