“This year the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is honoring Joe Ely, my friend and lifelong musical companion. So many artists were affected by him and his fearless creativity. The only way we have to express our love and respect for him and what he accomplished is to play his music. Butch Hancock, Rob Gjersoe, Pat Manske, Jimmy Pettit and I (The Flatlanders) will be joined by a number of Joe’s good friends.” - Jimmie Dale Gilmore
