Happy Birthday Cut Chemist!

Cut Chemist takes you on a trip through his vast collection with some special guests along for the ride below.

For over 20 years, Cut Chemist has toured the globe searching for music. Now the time has come to share that collection to the public every 1st and 3rd Saturday. The show will feature different segments to tackle different genres such as cassette culture new wave and rap demos, deep funk 45s, world beats and even contemporary artists and live guests.
“I’ve been missing the ‘party in a box’ feel of mix shows that used to exist 20 and 30 years ago like NYCs Red Alert show or the LA and Bay Area’s Wake Up Show. This is my chance to bring it back and share all the great music and talent I’ve run across over the years.” – Cut Chemist

Gaslamp Killer vs. Mary Anne Hobbs

The seventh installment of the Low End Theory podcast series brings together the notoriously psychedelicized beathead William "Gaslamp Killer" Bensussen with uber-popular host of BBC Radio1's Experimental Show Mary Anne Hobbs for two mini-sets of delightfully distorted head-nodders and head-scratchers. While it's only just a partial preview of what the globally-minded dubstep diva Hobbs will be putting down with XI and mymanhenri at The Social (1100 Queen West) on Thursday, May 6 and the subsequent damage GLK will do to the sound system at Wrongbar (1279 Queen West) on May 14, it's a magnificently mind-altering 45 minute trip nonetheless. A Flying Start

With the new Flying Lotus album Cosmogramma completed and ready for release by Warp on April 20,  producer and beatmaker deluxe Steven Ellison (the great-nephew of Alice Coltrane) decided it was time for a career retrospective. Gaslamp Killer delivered a dynamite mix which Lotus recently posted as a podcast. Check it out here.
