Four more classic Deja Voodoo albums being reissued on vinyl!

Long overdue reissues of Deja Voodoo's Too Cool To Live, Too Smart To Die, Swamp Of Love, Worst Of and Big Pile Of Mud are in the works.

Here's the scoop from Gerard Van Herk...

"An update on the reissues of the Deja Voodoo albums: Cemetery is already out, as you probably know. The next four albums -- Too Cool to Live, Swamp of Love, Worst of, and Big Pile of Mud -- should be out late this summer. I signed off on the album cover art a few days ago. Maybe I should do a couple of relaunch gigs, or listening parties, or something.

"Too Cool will be mastered from vinyl, like Cemetery was. But the other three will be mastered from the original two-track tapes. These are the actual tapes that those albums were recorded live onto, with no mixdown from multi-tracking. The RTA folks say the tapes were in really good shape, for something that old. I'm looking forward to hearing them again!"

You can get the reissue of Deja Voodoo's Cemetery album right here. Listen to 1985's "Too Cool To Live, Too Smart Too Die" and 1986's "Swamp Of Love" followed by a recent performance by Gerard Van Herk at The Horseshoe in Toronto and another in Vancouver below.

Don't miss Gerard Van Herk in Hamilton at Ooey Gooey's (107 George St.) with the always entertaining Night Chill on Friday, May 29th! Doors at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Hear Deja Voodoo's final European show in Belgium back in 1989

Have a listen to a fan's tape of Deja Voodoo's rippin' second set at The Pits club in Kortrijk, Belgium on November 5, 1989.

Writes Gerard:

"Here's something fun: audio from our last European show ever, in a small pub in a small town in Belgium in late 1989. We did 7 gigs in 4 countries in 6 days, sleeping on the train some nights. The songs got faster and faster..."

Check out Gerard Van Herk and Tony Dewald tearing it up at The Pits in Kortrijk on Nov 5, 1989 below.

Deja Voodoo's Gerard Van Herk joins Bloodshot Bill for "Shot Of Blood" EP

Those crazy Canucks Bloodshot Bill and Gerard Van Herk are together on on vinyl at last thanks to Voodoo Rhythm!

Here's the scoop from Voodoo Rhythm Records...

We are super happy to announce this new collaboration between Bloodshot Bill and Deja Voodoo co-founder Gerard Van Herk… CANADA STRIKES BACK !!! Date of release of this 7-inch will be March 14th.

BLOODSHOT BILL meets GERARD VAN HERK from the legendary DEJA VOODOO! The Canadian hick-up rockabilly Trash Lo-Fi King of One Man Bands getting mixed up with Deja Voodoo – it's like a childhood dream comes true! We pressed the 7-inch vinyl record with a European- style hard cardboard sleeve. You can pre-order directly from Voodoo Rhythm right here.

Writes Gerard Van Herk: "Bloodshot Bill and I recorded some tunes together last spring, and now they're coming out on record! My first time on vinyl in 35 years. The EP is on Switzerland's appropriately named Voodoo Rhythm label. I play lead/slide guitar and sing the two songs I wrote (Shot of Blood and Shish Taouk). Bloodshot plays drums, bass, and acoustic/chicken guitar and sings the two songs he wrote (She Said No and Crawl). And we both make a lot of random noises. Give it a listen!

Listen to "Shot Of Blood" and get a copy via Bandcamp over here. Check out some fan-shot footage of Bloodshot Bill and Gerard Van Herk performing together, entirely unrelated to the forthcoming release.
