| Sadly Italian guitarist Bruno Battisti D'Amario – who famously played on Ennio Morricone's soundtracks – has passed away at 88. He'll be greatly missed. |
Writes SONOR Music Editions...
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Maestro Bruno Battisti D'Amario, a legendary guitarist and a cherished, long-time collaborator of Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota and Angelo Baroncini.
His distinct timbre and guitar work defined the sound of Italian Western cinema, serving as an essential instrumental colour within Ennio Morricone’s most iconic scores and more classic film arrangements. Beyond his extraordinary virtuosity, Maestro D'Amario was a person of profound humility and grace.
His music will endure forever. Rest in peace, Maestro, and thank you.
