However, Googoosh faced challenges after the Islamic revolution of Iran in 1979, which banned women from singing in public. She was arrested and spent 21 years under house arrest. Nevertheless, Googoosh made a triumphant return to the stage in 2000, selling out concerts worldwide. She performed at iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, Sydney Opera House, and The Royal Albert Hall, solidifying her status as a global icon.
