Brown Spirits unleash whumpin' 2nd album "Cosmic Seeds" on January 10

Melbourne jazz-psych power trio Brown Spirits' new 8-song album Cosmic Seeds is out Friday.

Here's the scoop from Soul Jazz HQ...

Unbelievably killer and super, super heavy brand-new Cosmic Psyche/Krautrock album from Brown Spirits, new on Soul Jazz Records!

This is the second album by Brown Spirits on Soul Jazz Records following on from their debut album Solitary Transmissions and a string of very limited and collectible 45s (all sold out).

Includes the two collectible 45s (completely sold out) limited 45s + more wicked tunes!

Brown Spirits'  Tim Wold (keyboards, Moog), Agostino Soldati (drums, percussion) and Ash Buscombe (bass) are from Melbourne, Australia. The stripped down and tight trio (think Cream or Hendrix!) of raw bass, heavy and motorik drums and guitar meets the D-I-Y attitude and punk/post-punk intensity, plus a cosmic funked up Fender Rhodes and synth grooviness (Lonnie Liston Smith, Johnny Hammond, etc) giving them a truly unique hi-octane addictive sound.

With a range of influences that range from Neu! to Soft Machine, Gang of Four, Miles Davis, Hendrix, Argent, Lonnie Liston Smith, King Crimson and beyond, their powerfully progressive hard and hypnotic sound is truly unforgettable.

Like their labelmates Trees Speak, Brown Spirits have a love all things Krautrock - mixed with an overwhelmingly powerful lo-fi psych and punk attitude. The album features super heavy and raw drums, tough basslines, heavy fuzzed-out wah and psyche guitar and analog moog synthesizers, all recorded on analogue ¼ inch tape.

You can preview clips of Brown Spirits' Cosmic Seeds LP and order it directly from Soul Jazz Records right here.  Watch the videos for "Space Race" and "Seven 8ths of Madness" off their previous album Solitary Transmissions below.
