Cat Power album due in September
After a lengthy break between Cat Power studio sets, Matador has slated September 4 for the new SUN album recorded, performed and produced by Chan Marshall primarily at the home studio she built in Malibu. From the upbeat tone of the lead off track Ruin (see the Austin Conroy-directed video clip below), it sounds like SUN could do very well for Marshall and Matador both. Watch for details of a limited-run vinyl editon to be announced soon. If you like the song Ruin, you can momentarily download it for free right here.
