When singer/songwriter Simone Schmidt of Toronto's One Hundred Dollars decided she needed an outlet for her non-country tunes, Fiver was formed with her fellow bandmates, guitarist Paul Mortimer, bassist Kyle Porter along with Tropics drummer Simone TB.
