Here's the scoop from Long Branch HQ...
Long Branch music group are pleased to announce our forthcoming new album, Arc of The Sun! Slated for release on Friday, July 11, the album was engineered by, and co-produced with the band by Jon Drew, and recorded at Taurus Studios.
We are self-releasing it on our Eventual label, and it will be available on deluxe gold melt vinyl, as well and all the usual streamers. The front cover features exquisite art by Rachel Duckhouse, with back cover photo and jacket design by Don Pyle.
The premium inner sleeve has another drawing by Rachel Duckhouse, and full lyrics, with design by Lisa Myers. Arc of The Sun includes special guest Anne Bourne on cello.
The album is distributed in Canada by F.A.B. (https://www.fab.ca/en). The first two “singles” are out now! You can listen to our latest one, "How It Is," on some streamers or on our bandcamp (https://longbranchmusic.bandcamp.com/album/arc-of-the-sun) - where you can also pre-order vinyl LP or digital files.

Tickets for Long Branch's album release show with Ada Lea (solo) and This Is How We Die at Sound Garage (165 Geary) on Thursday (July 10) are $22.55 advance and available right here. Those in Montreal can catch Long Branch with SongPoems and SLURP at the Rocket Science Room (#204 – 170 Jean Talon Ouest) on Saturday, July 12 at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 at the door. Long Branch – Arc of the Sun
Arc of the Sun was born out of the lockdown era, as isolation slowly gave way to reconnection with loved ones and each other. We then took time to write, arrange and return to the intimacy of creating music together. Co-producer and engineer Jon Drew at Taurus Recording committed to our sound and to the project. He tuned into what each of us brought into the studio, listening to our playing styles, the textures of our amps and effects, our unique musical approaches. From this process of making and creating, Long Branch has ripped into a new level of sonic creation, at times raw, emotional, and unapologetically intense. Out of that connection, we’ve crafted something new: Arc of the Sun. We’re proud to share it, and hope you fully immerse yourself in its resonances.
