Tia Brazda previews new album When I Get Low out May 27th

Tia Brazda revisits the Great American Songbook for her latest, When I Get Low, recorded with musicians playing remotely.

Here's the scoop...

One of Canada’s most recognizable voices in jazz, Tia Brazda delves into the past with her new album When I Get Low. It’s being released by Flatcar Records on May 27th, with European and Canadian dates in support and finds Brazda rediscovering songs largely from the 1930s, in the Great American songbook. Thematically, the album is at first dystopian but ultimately uplifting; dreamy and nostalgic with a dash of grit. Brazda’s effortless vocals are supported by a cast of players from her live touring band that features Grammy and JUNO award winners. The entire album was recorded remotely, with all the players tracking their parts in home studios, ranging from Northern Ontario to New Orleans, due to the pandemic.
