Recently discovered Neil Ardley 1966 demo with New Jazz Orchestra released

Recently unearthed from the archives of Neil Ardley, the 1966 recording was made to try out the then new Olympic Studios.

Here's the scoop...
The 5-track New Jazz Orchestra / Neil Ardley Orchestra release Jazz Calendar: Olympic Studios '66 was sourced from a recently discovered and previously unreleased demo tape recorded on September 18, 1966 partly to test the newly completed Olympic Sound Studios, Barnes, London, prior to commercial opening.

The sessions contain such luminaries of the British jazz scene as: Ian Carr, Barabara Thompson, Mike Gibbs, Jon Hiseman, Bobby Orr, Pete Lemer, Tony Reeves, Dave Gelly, Ray Warleigh, Chris Pyne and more!

To celebrate the forthcoming publication of Viv Wilson's biography on her late husband, legendary British progressive jazz composer, pianist and author Neil Ardley – Jazz In Britain are making the Jazz Calendar EP available now for FREE (or whatever you want to pay) right here

Jazz Calendar represents the first full release of what will be an extensive series of Jazz In Britain releases from the Neil Ardley tape archive. Look out for more soon!
